UX/UI design and website relaunch for Urania Berlin

For more than 130 years, Urania has been bringing scientific knowledge to a wide audience and, like few other institutions, stands for the dissemination of knowledge and the promotion of cultural participation. The cultural and educational association Urania Berlin e.V. has been serving as a knowledge platform for all citizens since 1888.

2024 was a year of upheaval for the association and the Urania team. The existing website was put to the test. Many users had difficulties with navigation, the information structure was too complicated, and there were technical problems. We were therefore commissioned to relaunch the website based on the existing corporate design.

In close dialogue with the client, we simplified the information structure, tidied up the design and typography, designed intuitive navigation and new automations, and linked the events to the Reservix ticket system. We also introduced new design elements, such as illustrative imagery for the program series.

Our programming partners at Wowholic implemented the website based on the WordPress CMS and incorporated various administrative aids. This allows the Urania team to change content of any kind quickly and efficiently.
