up2fuel is an innovative production process for upcycling plastic waste into an alternative energy source. The procedure has been patented worldwide and, as of October 2015, is a registered trademark. The treatment is unique in that it is has an average energy conversion efficiency of 85% in its overall performance, achieved via an efficient transfer of the heat generated by synthetic material as it is processed.
In order to attract investors globally for the first pilot plant, we have been assigned with conceptualising and realising the corporate design, the business stationary, an informational flyer and the website. The reflection of the rainbow on the surface of oil is the key visual feature of the brand’s look and feel, and is mirrored in the colour concept. Together the hexagon, symbolising the chemical element of the process (carbon), and the droplet – symbolising the generation of fuel – form the design’s central theme. The geometrical form of the logo is also reflected in the striking font used, which reinforces the instant recognisability of the design.
The presentation of the innovative and high-quality product is supported by a simple and clear design vocabulary, as well as the exclusive use of ‘hot foil stamping’ on high quality rough paper. These optics and haptics are combined in a way that is interesting and as yet unseen in the technological field. An information graphic integrated within the flyer explains the complex technological process even for the layperson.
