The city of San Francisco was built on 42 different hills. The construction of the cable car meant that the “city by the bay" could spread further and further away from its roots, and into the hills. City of Hills offers audio guides for the seven most interesting hillsides for visitors to the city. In addition to the various different attractions, the tours provide exciting historical information, insider tips for shopping, and culinary recommendations – so there’s something for everyone.“
The visual concept is based on the most spectacular seven hills of the city, including the lookout at Twin Peaks and Nob Hill as the centre, with its cable cars rumbling along Powell Street. A logo with a customised colour scheme was created for each city guide based on the topographic map of the city and the corresponding contour lines of each hill. An additional appealing visual element is a map of the city from over 100 years ago.
In addition to designing and consulting, a complete corporate design with letterheads, envelopes, and business cards, a website shows details of the various tours and includes audio guides available for download. It also describes how a topographic map can be read and interpreted.
