Toeplitz Gallery - Art on the largest island of Brandenburg

The Havel-Land-Art e.V (Havel Land Art Association) promotes the arts and culture in Havel – in particular the presentation of young artists. The Art Association is represented by Toeplitz Gallery. Exhibits include contemporary, mostly figurative artists with a wide spectrum of masterful technique and experimental work. The high quality of the exhibiting artists, and the musicians playing at exhibition openings, necessitated the appropriate visual appearance to draw continued high number of visitors and media attention and respond to the particular needs of participating artists.

The corporate design is conceived as an unobtrusive stage and frame for the exhibited artwork. Through the logo, the design also thematises the special location of the gallery on the largest island of Brandenburg within close reach of Potsdam and Berlin. The design breaks the normal extremely minimalist design conventions common to galleries. A restrained framework for the artwork, the corporate design is nonetheless stand-alone, positioning Toeplitz Gallery as a singular institution in the Brandenburg cultural landscape.

The potential viewing public is addressed very specifically through flyers and the website. Extensive postering and flyer placement also draws the attention of increasing numbers of new visitors. Formulating the corporate identity with members of the association, and implementing a corporate design, made for a conceptually stronger, aesthetically pleasing overall appearance.
