The German Children and Youth Welfare Day (DJHT) is Europe's largest specialist conference with an integrated trade fair for the field of child and youth welfare. The DJHT provides a space for exchange and networking, enabling participants to engage with different theoretical and practical perspectives. The motto of the upcoming DJHT is ‘Because it's all at stake: Realising democracy through participation!’.
The diverse interaction between child and youth welfare, society and all the people involved is at the heart of the event design. The challenge here was to find a key visual that did not favour any one group, but was equally open to all topics and debates.
The 17th DJHT was essentially only able to take place digitally during the coronavirus pandemic. As a result of this challenge, it became clear that an intelligently designed web portal is necessary for future DJHTs. Barrier-free, scalable and expandable in the future, easy to administer, with automation for all application and many organisational processes, and with different login areas for visitors and trade fair and congress organisers, this portal has become an extremely complex website.
Together with our technical partners from *produktivbüro, we involved the clients in the technical design at an early stage and designed, programmed and launched the system online in an agile manner, using step-by-step milestones. Overall, this project was characterised by ideal cooperation between clients, programmers and designers.
